Nigel Souster and Nigel Lee, who between them have over 40 years experience at a Big 5 Firm, established CFO Solutions Limited, to provide Finance Director services to businesses and charities on the South Coast and in London.
Nigel Souster was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Southampton for 20 years, including 11 years as head of the firms UK charities business.
The Charities unit at CFO Solutions will provide Financial Director services to Charities on either a full-time, part-time, interim or one-off project basis. Nigel comments that for quite a few years, Charities have been reducing overheads, and as a result, these Charities are either short of staff or resources to undertake new initiatives and one-off projects.
The Charity Commissioners have in recent years required Charities to formerly identify the risks facing them and the controls in place to mitigate those risks.
In many cases, this process has brought the trustees much closer to the operational challenges facing the charities’ senior management, and in particular the staffing shortages that are limiting the resolution of some of the key issues.
On the corporate side of the business, Nigel Lee brings a wealth of experience from 11 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers and more recently as a Finance Director and Controller in IT companies. Nigel notes that many smaller businesses do not have a Finance Director simply because they cannot afford one.
